Default Guild capes

Ok, I like being in a guild, I like the cape, but I dont want to walk around with that cape all day. I want to be able to take it off, to be able to toggle it. this way some (to me) irritating glitches won't happen anymore, like when u got a leather vest (the trenchcoat), the cape goes in half way, or when u're flexing as a monk your head goes through the cape. All minor things which I would like to see changed, simply by making the cape toggleable (is that even a word?). I know it ruins the way of identification thru capes COMPLETELY, but hey, who the heck knows: "oh thats the cape with the skull, fire and castle-like end of the cape, so thats (insert name) guild."? Nobody does. Or just the ability to put the banner on your shield or sumtin.

This idea has been beaten to death, but it should still be implemented. I don't like wearing my cape at a dance party...

1. Capes should be able to be turned off or taken off by the player.
2. Guilds should have the option of going with no capes once they get one.
3. Every PC should also have an individual cape that he can choose to wear.

I just now have encountered this somewhat annoying cape issue and would like to put emphasis on how terrible it is to players (like me) who enjoys looking at their very nice, sleek, color coordinated characters.

edit: i'm not sure if i was being too vague, but to clear it up: yes. i agree with the OP. capes visuals need an off button.

i like the capes it makes my warrior look good in my eyes but i've had some of my guild members asking if there was a way to take it off and i don't have any suggestions other than leaving the guild but i don't want them to do that i have a small group but they're good people so there really needs to be a toggle or maybe different styles like a flag or sash etc.

no. turning the cape of takes away the team feeling you get in a guild. If you meet up with some guildmates its realy cool to see all those capes. I go a pic somewhere were we met with almost the whole clan. realy cool

thats true but i don't want a guild member leaving because she doesn't like the cape i don't think she will but there's always a chance there are other options and i've suggested before that maybe we could design our own guild armor that would be specific to our guild it would take some work but there are some things that could be done

in that case toggle it ON when you meet up with guildies. problem solved.

i agree, toggle button is VERY necessary. otherwise, what is the draw to buying the 15 armor? it IS statistically the same as the 1.5k, right? so its only darw is its aesthetic appeal. the cape hides the whole backside of the armor. lame!

Please allow us to toggle capes!

Some of the best armor graphics appear on the backs and necks. I wear the 15k Wanderer's armor and, darnit, I want people to be able to see the intricate tattoo on my back. I am literally tempted to leave my guild in order to make that happen since we communicate on ventrilo anyway - but my character isn't quite that vain....yet.

1. Thats like saying... you only feel like wearing your wedding ring when you feel like being married.
2. Guilds don't have to buy capes.
3. If each of you want an individual cape, then each of you should create your individual guild.

I never liked the idea of the cape. I however, have been courting the idea of suggesting to ArenaNet to allow each member of the guild to customise the way they are to wear their respective emblems. For instance, if someone wants to wear a cape, then so be it, someone else might like to wear an armband or have it imprinted on his armor or shield. Some might like to wear it as a bandana.

I dont know how possible it is but coupled with the ability to remove it at will could start us all on the way of more diversity
